Exploring the significance of the Key concepts, Related concepts and Global contexts suggested by IB for the MYP language acquisition curriculum development, the workshop aims to help Chinese acquisition teachers see a big picture of three-dimensional language learning, and gain a good understanding of the concept-based approach to Chinese language acquisition.This workshop will also provide opportunities for them to develop ideas of creating relevant, meaningful and challenging conceptual units of instruction with particular focus.
Xiao Chuan Lin is currently teaching MYP and DP Chinese, while serving as the language acquisition department chair at the Chadwick International. Her international school teaching has spanned for the past 20 years, teaching at four different countries. She is an IBDP workshop leader since 2010, and has successfully facilitated both Chinese Ab Initio and Chinese B workshops.
