In this presentation we will discuss the Reader’s Workshop model to teach reading in grades 4 and 5, and how to implement ELL strategies to support all learners. Presenters will discuss the push-in model for ELL support used at KIS Jeju and give you specific strategies to use in your next lesson.

Elaine Costeira and Eric Rosenthal are teachers at Korea International School, Jeju campus. They are both ELL Specialists in the Elementary School. Elaine and Eric support student learning in grades 4 and 5 by giving 100% push-in support during Reader's Workshop. Elaine has been teaching second language learners for fifteen years. She has taught in Canada, Japan, Thailand, China and now Korea. Eric has taught English language learners for eight years. He has worked with students in South Korea, Vietnam, and China.
