Welcome to the 2017 KORCOS International Education Conference at Chadwick International. Please browse the many wonderful presentations and jobalikes that are being offered and start creating your schedule. We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday, November 18.
In this presentation, we will explore how I design instruction based on continual assessment and reflection (extending from logs, student portfolios, and feedback circles) to more accurately understand and interpret individual student growth and progress compared to individual language levels, strengths, and challenges.
Sarah Sánchez Armstrong hails from Colorado in the southwestern US. She has taught High School Spanish (levels 1-4) at a Project Based Learning charter school, Adult Conversational Spanish, College Preparatory Spanish for underprivileged youth, Elementary Spanish (kindergarten-5th grade), and High School Spanish at Busan Foreign School (levels 1-AP) where she currently works. Sarah approaches language education through comprehensible input, creativity, rigor, literacy development, and real-world applications.
In order for students to produce authentic language, it is necessary to immerse them in real life situations. The aim of this workshop is to share strategies on how to adapt realia and authentic task-based materials in foreign language teaching and learning. Turning the lesson into a reproduction of social exchanges based in real and meaningful communication.
