Emma Stanford is the Department Lead for PYP Visual Art at Chadwick International. She has taught Grades Kindergarten to 5 in PYP and has experience teaching MYP Grades 6-10. She has taught in schools in the UK, Switzerland, Bangladesh and now in South Korea.

AP English Language and Composition Jobalike

AP English Language is a course about rhetoric, which, for most students, represents a bit of a different way of approaching texts in the English classroom. In this jobalike, I'd like to share best practices for getting students to think and write rhetorically.

Lindsay Maguire is a 12th Grade English and AP English Language and Composition teacher at Cheongna Dalton School, as well as the English department head. Lindsay has just begun her eighth year of teaching high school, and this is her third year teaching AP Lang. She is very passionate about the class and is eager to facilitate a conversation among teachers who also love teaching AP Lang.

Differentiating instruction and assessment for English language learners. How do we do this effectively? What do our teachers need to know? Share your ideas and experiences.

Wendy Hannagan is the ELL and literacy coordinator for the elementary school at Chadwick International. She is in her 6th year at CI but has been an ELL teacher for 12 years after switching from a successful career as a classroom teacher. Wendy is a trained 'Teaching ESL Students in Mainstream Classrooms' (TESMC) tutor and has slowly been training all the teachers and interns at CI how to plan for and teach English language learners.

Both Gary and Andrew have built up Makerspaces from scratch and have over 20 years of combined experience across a broad range of "Maker" tools from 3D Printing, Laser cutter, Vinyl cutter, Digital Embroidery, Arduino, mBot, Scratch, CNC, woodworking, sewing.

DiAnna Pantano is the Head of Fine Arts at Cheongna Dalton School (CDS). She currently teaches courses for Visual Arts 9 & 10, Studio Arts I & ll, and AP Studio Art (Drawing & Painting/2D Design). AERO Social Studies Standards for Grade 4 requires teaching about our host country of Korea. Unfortunately, a dearth of resources means an increased amount of planning and resource creation. Perhaps we can help each other out.

Jason Baker, a Canadian residing in Korea, has been teaching for 15 years with the last three of those in Grade 4 at Cheongna Dalton School. He received his B.Ed from the University of Ottawa and a B.A. in History from Memorial University. He enjoys teaching, in general, but teaching Social Studies and pooling resources, in particular.
